ABOUT THE GPTN-NA HACKATHON
GTPN-NA hackathon is the first hackathon organized by Tibetans for the Tibetan community. The aim of the hackathon is to create a community of Tibetan hackers who can collaborate and initiate exciting projects to contribute to the Tibetan community.
In the last 70 years of occupation, the Tibetan exile community has been heavily dependent on the outside community for monetary and policy support. However, with the help of the older Tibetan generation, the current Tibetan generation has reached an education threshold where we can be the true leader of our own movement. There are several Tibetans excelling in the field of Technology, Health, Finance, Environment, and much more. This hackathon is a call for action.
The hackathon will be an opportunity to bring together Tibetans from varied fields for a weekend and rack their brains to produce exciting solutions/products catering to the Tibetan community.
WHAT IS A HACKATHON?
Innovative Event: A hackathon is a time-bound event, usually spanning from 24 to 48 hours, where individuals or teams collaborate intensively to create innovative solutions, most often related to software or technology.
Problem-Solving: During a hackathon, participants are typically presented with a problem or theme and are tasked to come up with a creative and functional solution. This can involve coding, design, strategizing, and more.
Collaboration and Learning: Hackathons offer a unique platform for learning and networking. They bring together people with various skills - coders, designers, entrepreneurs, etc. - to work together, learn from each other, and potentially turn ideas into reality.
