See The Met collection through artists' eyes. Join Tenzing Rigdol as he discusses his latest site-specific installation for The Met, Biography of a Thought, and describes his creative process. Best known for his thought-provoking art installations, Rigdol is a contemporary artist who uses early Buddhist imagery to convey secular ideas and consider Buddhist values in today’s society.

Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize on 15th December 2024. Our Honorable Sikyong (President) Penpa Tsering la of the Central Tibetan Administration will be the chief guest, and Representative of His Holiness Dalai Lama office Dr. Namgyal Choedup will attend as a special guest. In the evening, TCNYNJ will organize a fund raise gala dinner for Phuntsok Deshe Community Center. We request all community members to support the evening gala dinner.

On this 22nd day of the ninth month of the Tibetan calendar, we celebrate the Buddha’s descent from Heaven. The Buddha’s mother passed away shortly after his birth and was reborn in heaven. Buddha taught for three months in the realm of the gods to repay his mother’s kindness and to liberate her. He taught the Dharma there also to benefit the gods.

Tibet Bicycle Rally

RTYCNYNJ is hosting a free Tibet cycle rally on October 10, 2024, continuing our third special monthly events on the 10th of each month. The rally will kick off from Diversity Plaza in Jackson Heights at 11:00 AM, proceeding to the United Nations office and then to the Chinese consulate. We will pause for approximately 30 minutes at each location to conduct a peaceful protest, calling for an end to the oppressive rule of the CCP in Tibet and raising awareness about the ongoing systematic cultural genocide taking place in Tibet.
